After a 1-1 draw, Liverpool beat AS Roma 4-2 and Grobbelaar’s ‘wobbly knees’ goal-line antics during the shoot-out undoubtedly helped the club win the match. Zimbabwean goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar played for Liverpool from 1981 until 1994, making 628 appearances, 440 of these in the Football League. He won six League Championships, three FA Cups, three League Cups and the 1984 European Cup with the Merseyside club.
