Cole is considered by many critics and fellow professional players as one of the best defenders of his generation, one of the greatest English players of all time as well as one of the greatest left-backs in the history of the sport. Born in Stepney, London, Cole began his youth career at Arsenal and made his full debut for the club in November 1999, going on to make 228 appearances and scoring nine goals for the North London club. With Arsenal he won two Premier League titles, three FA Cups, and was an integral member of the “Invincibles” team of the 2003–04 season, who went the entire league season undefeated. Cole also made an appearance in Arsenal’s first UEFA Champions League final in 2006; the club lost 2–1 to Barcelona.

In August 2006, after a protracted transfer saga, Cole completed a move to rival club Chelsea, with whom he won further honours, including the Premier League in the 2009–10 season, four FA Cups, one Football League Cup and one UEFA Champions League. He was released by Chelsea at the end of the 2013–14 season. With seven winners’ medals, Cole has won the FA Cup more times than any other player in history, and is one of two players to have won the Double with two clubs, along with Nicolas Anelka.

Cole was an England international from 2001 to 2014, playing at the 20022006 and 2010 World Cups, as well as Euro 2004 and Euro 2012. He was voted England Player of the Year in 2010. When he retired from international football in 2014, he had won 107 caps, making him England’s most-capped full-back.

Bastian Schweinsteiger Match Worn F.C Bayern Munich Champions League Shirt – 2006 – 2007

Very rare and beautiful Bastian Schweinsteiger match worn F.C Bayern Munich shirt

Shirt worn by Bastian Schweinsteiger during the UEFA Champions League fixture v Spartak Moscow at the Allianz Arena on the 12th September 2006

Shirt is the correct size for Schweinsteiger and has all the correct labels and tags inside which is different to that of the retail version shirt and issued directly to the club – player for match use

Shirt remains is good – very good condition with small signs of wear and use still visible

He has mastered almost every pinnacle of success a footballer can aim to achieve. Accordingly, the exhibition reveals that Bayern fans have bestowed the additional endorsement of Fußballgott (football god – a leading favourite player amongst the fans) on Bastian Schweinsteiger. Born in Upper Bavaria, he became a legend over his 17 years at FC Bayern with numerous titles and committed performances.

At the tender age of 13, Schweinsteiger moved from TSV1860 Rosenheim to Säbener Straße and he won his first trophies in the FCB youth teams. He discovered what it was like to win the German league title with both the U19 and U17. At the age of 18, the midfielder then made his debut for the first team at the German record champions and his collection of honours grew and grew.

Schweinsteiger made 500 competitive appearances for the FCB senior side scoring 68 goals and celebrating an impressive 20 title wins. That includes eight Bundesliga titles, seven DFB Cups and one FIFA Club World Cup, one Champions League and one UEFA Super Cup title – that makes him the most successful player in the club’s history. During this time, the treble winner of 2013 developed both as a player and a person.

At the start of his career, Schweini played on the wing where he stood out with his agile and tricky approach. And his hairstyle also attracted attention. The arrival of Luis van Gaal saw Schweinsteiger move into central midfield where the number 31 became the undisputed lynch-pin and driving force at Bayern. That change saw the man from Kolbermoor rise to the top of the world. In this position, Schweinsteiger was not only the symbol of the treble in 2013 but also the triumph of Germany at the 2014 World Cup.

Bob Wilson Signed Arsenal FA Cup Final 1971 Match Shirt

Rare Bob Wilson hand signed Arsenal FA Cup Final 1971 match shirt

Shirt hand signed on the front by the former Arsenal goalkeeper and club legend

In 1971, Bob was Arsenal’s player of the year in their Double-winning season, in which he played every first-team match in League and Cup, culminating in the 1971 FA Cup Final win over Liverpool

In the finale to the 1970–71 FA Cup season, the 1971 FA Cup Final was contested by Arsenal and Liverpool at Wembley on 8 May 1971.

Arsenal won 2–1 after extra time, with all three goals coming in the added half-hour. Steve Heighway opened the scoring for Liverpool with a low drive past Wilson on his near post. However, Arsenal equalised with a scrambled goal from George Graham which is often credited to substitute Eddie Kelly although tv footage exists which shows Graham got the final touch.

Charlie George then scored a winner late in extra time, when his long range effort went past Ray Clemence.

The game was the second half of Arsenal’s first League and FA Cup double, the first double achieved by any club since Tottenham Hotspur’s double in 1961. The first half had been achieved through Arsenal’s league victory over Tottenham at White Hart Lane on the Monday of the same week. The trophy was presented by the President of The Football Association, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent.

Due to the clash of Liverpool’s red strip with Arsenal’s red and white colours, Arsenal wore their away strip of yellow shirt and blue shorts.

Wilson started late as a professional player, as his father would not let him sign papers with Manchester United as he thought it was not a reasonable job whilst he was a youth. Wilson then went on to Loughborough College for training as a teacher. He had been playing reserve games for Wolverhampton Wanderers as an amateur between 1961 and 1963 and was the first amateur to have a transfer fee paid (£7,500). He remained an amateur for eight months when he signed for Arsenal in July 1963 until he signed professional forms in March 1964.

Wilson made his debut against Nottingham Forest on 26 October 1963 in a 4–2 win. However, being forced to play understudy to Jim Furnell, it was to be over four years until Wilson became first-choice keeper in 1968, after Furnell made a mistake in an FA Cup tie against Birmingham City in March 1968. Wilson took over and remained in goal for Arsenal for the remainder of the 1967–68 season.

Later, firmly ensconced in the Arsenal side, Wilson was ever-present in the 1968–69 season, which included Arsenal’s loss to Swindon Town in the 1969 League Cup Final. Despite sustaining a broken arm the following season, 1969–70, Wilson recovered and won his first trophy with Arsenal, the 1969–70 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. In 1971, he was Arsenal’s player of the year in their Double-winning season, in which he played every first-team match in League and Cup, culminating in the 1971 FA Cup Final win over Liverpool.

Wilson continued to play as Arsenal’s keeper through the early 1970s, although an injury late on in the 1972 FA Cup semi-final against Stoke City meant he missed Arsenal’s 1972 FA Cup Final loss to Leeds United and much of the 1972–73 season. Understudy Geoff Barnett took his place, but Wilson regained the number one shirt once fully recovered, and was Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper up until his surprisingly early retirement from playing in May 1974, at the age of 32.
