The 2016 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2016 or simply Euro 2016, was the 15th UEFA European Championship, the quadrennial international men’s football championship of Europe organised by UEFA. It was held in France from 10 June to 10 July 2016. Spain were the two-time defending champions, having won the 2008 and 2012 tournaments, but were eliminated in the round of 16 by Italy. Portugal won the tournament for the first time, following a 1–0 victory after extra time over the host team, France, in the final played at the Stade de France.

For the first time, the European Championship final tournament was contested by 24 teams, having been expanded from the 16-team format used since 1996. Under the new format, the finalists contested a group stage consisting of six groups of four teams, followed by a knockout phase including three rounds and the final. Nineteen teams – the top two from each of the nine qualifying groups and the best third-placed team – joined France in the final tournament, who qualified automatically as host; a series of two-legged play-off ties between the remaining third-placed teams in November 2015 decided the last four finalist spots.

France was chosen as the host nation on 28 May 2010, after a bidding process in which they beat Italy and Turkey for the right to host the 2016 finals.[7][8] The matches were played in ten stadiums in ten cities: Bordeaux, Lens, Lille Métropole, Décines-Charpieu, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Saint-Denis, Saint-Étienne, and Toulouse. It was the third time that France hosted the finals, after the inaugural tournament in 1960 and the 1984 finals.

As the winners, Portugal earned the right to compete at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia

Real Madrid Copa Del Rey Players Winners Trophy 2013 – 2014 Season

Incredibly rare Real Madrid Copa Del Rey Original players winners trophy

Copa del Rey Final Match Winning Player’s Original Trophy which was awarded to the Real Madrid members by the King of Spain Felipe VI at the Mestalla in Valencia on the 16th April 2014 . This is an original trophy neither replica nor reproduction and was obtained from one of Real Madrid staff members. This member received this trophy in the Spanish Federation Dinner the night before the match, which is the reason that the cup has two pairs of colored laces of the participating teams in the final match (FC Barcelona & Real Madrid). The cup also has its original jewel maker case.

The 2014 Copa del Rey Final was the 112th final of Spain’s premier football cup since its establishment (including two seasons where two rival editions were played). The match was an El Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona on 16 April 2014 at Mestalla in Valencia, making it the seventh such Copa del Rey final (the most recent was also played at the Mestalla on 20 April 2011).

Real Madrid won the cup for the 19th time after a 2–1 win with Gareth Bale scoring one of the best goals ever seen in a Copa Del Rey Final , after 11 minutes Real Madrid went in front when Ángel Di María’s low left footed shot from the left went through Jordi Alba’s legs and in off goalkeeper José Manuel Pinto’s left hand. Barcelona were level in the 68th minute when Marc Bartra headed into the far corner of the net after a Xavi corner from the left.

The winning goal came with five minutes to go when Gareth Bale picked the ball up just inside his own half on the left wing and went past Bartra at a blistering pace (at one point off the field before running back onto the field) leaving Bartra in his wake, before running into the penalty area, evading more challenges and then composedly slotting the ball left-footed low past the goalkeeper from six yards out. Some football pundits labelled his goal as a masterclass,[11] whilst Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino admitted that it was “difficult to see a player sprint like that at that stage of the game”.

The winners trophies and the big trophy were produced by Alegre jewel maker; a Spanish jewel maker in Madrid who produces all the prizes given to participants in all Spanish sport activities, including La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa de España. Alegre jewel maker does not sell its products to the general public, his jewel designs are given only to The Spanish Football Federation who awards these prizes to the finalists

Ryan Giggs Signed Manchester United Debut Programme 1991

Rare Ryan Giggs signed Manchester United debut programme v Everton 1991

Programme signed on the front by the former Manchester United star and one of if not the best player to ever play for the club

Giggs made his League debut against Everton at Old Trafford on 2 March 1991, as a substitute for the injured full-back Denis Irwin in a 2–0 defeat.[5] In his first full start, Giggs was credited with his first-ever goal in a 1–0 win in the Manchester derby on 4 May 1991, though it appeared to be a Colin Hendry own goal. However, he was not included in the squad of 16 that defeated Barcelona in the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup final 11 days later. Lee Sharpe, who had won the race to displace Danny Wallace, took to the field as United’s left winger, while Wallace was selected as a substitute. Giggs became a first-team regular early in the 1991–92 season, yet remained active with the youth system and captained the team, made up of many of “Fergie’s Fledglings,” to an FA Youth Cup triumph in 1992

Giggs is one of the most decorated footballers of all time. During his time at United, he won 13 Premier League winner’s medals, four FA Cup winner’s medals, three League Cup winner’s medals, two UEFA Champions League winner’s medals, a FIFA Club World Cup winners medal, an Intercontinental Cup winner’s medal, a UEFA Super Cup winner’s medal and nine FA Community Shield winner’s medals. Manchester United and Liverpool are the only clubs in English football history to have won more league championships than Giggs. Giggs captained United on numerous occasions, particularly in the 2007–08 season when regular captain Gary Neville was ruled out with various injuries.

Giggs also has many personal achievements. He was the first player in history to win two consecutive PFA Young Player of the Year awards (1992 and 1993), though he did not win the PFA Player of the Year award until 2009. He was the only player to play in each of the first 22 seasons of the Premier League, as well as the only player to score in each of the first 21 seasons. He was elected into the PFA Team of the Century in 2007, the Premier League Team of the Decade in 2003, as well as the FA Cup Team of the Century. Giggs holds the record for the most assists in Premier League history, with 162. He was named as BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2009. In addition to the many honours Giggs has received within football, he was appointed an OBE in the Queen’s 2007 Birthday Honours List for his services to football.

Rare signed item from the clubs most decorated player and one of the best players to ever play for the club.

“He was left-footed, quick, tall and slim, almost like a little boy whose shirt was too big for him. But the boy clearly had fantastic ability.”Everton striker Graeme Sharp
