On 19 June 2000, Eiður was signed by Premier League club Chelsea for a fee of £4.5 million. He was the second striker signed by the Blues that pre-season, after Dutch international Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

Eiður made his debut on 13 August in the 2000 FA Charity Shield at Wembley, replacing Gianfranco Zola for the final 17 minutes of a 2–0 win over Manchester United. He spent most of his first season in London being used as a substitute, but was still able to score 13 times. In his second season, he formed a partnership with Hasselbaink which provided 52 goals for Chelsea in all competitions.

Following the appointment of José Mourinho as manager, Eiður eventually played in a more withdrawn role as he helped the club win two successive Premier League titles.

Butragueño was a football genius and a Real Madrid legend who turned football into an art form. His dribbling was simply out of this world and his goals were the stuff of dreams. His intelligence on the pitch was too much for the brute strength of defenders and he turned the game into something sublime. His nickname (the ‘Vulture’) came to represent one of the best generations of players in the history of Real Madrid and Spanish football when, along with SanchísMíchelMartín Vázquez and Pardeza, he led the famous ‘Quinta del Buitre’ (‘The Vulture Squadron’’).

His vision of the game and his ability to improvise led scouts from Atlético de Madrid to try to sign him, but Butragueño and his father were members of Real Madrid and he wanted to play for the team he supported. That’s why he eventually signed for the Real Madrid youth team.

While he was playing for Real Madrid Castilla, his name started to appear on the front pages of newspapers. His goal scoring statistics were already spectacular and Alfredo Di Stéfano called him up to the first team and he made his full debut on the 5th of February 1984 in Cádiz. He came onto the pitch wearing the number 14 shirt and turned the game on its head by scoring two goals and making a third.

He made a decisive contribution to winning the UEFA Cup two years running (1985 and 1986) and his performances in this competition earned him recognition from all around Europe.  He also won the ‘Bravo Trophy’ for the best Under-24 player on two consecutive occasions. Along with Hugo Sánchez he was part of a legendary attacking duo for many seasons at Real Madrid.

For 12 years he was a regular for the team and without being an out-and-out goalscorer he won the Pichichi Trophy. Butragueño retired as a Madrid player on the 15th of June 1995 in a testimonial against Roma. The Bernabéu showed their gratitude for his dedication to the Whites and left thanking the club he had loved as a fan and a player and that he still loves today.

England Rugby 1980 Grand Slam Squad Signed Shirt

England 1980 Grand Slam Winning Squad Signed Rugby Shirt. This is a replica England Rugby Shirt, signed by the 1980 England Five Nations squad members from the Grand Slam Winning Squad.

The 1980 Five Nations Championship was the fifty-first series of the rugby union Five Nations Championship. Including the previous incarnations as the Home Nations and Five Nations, this was the eighty-sixth series of the northern hemisphere rugby union championship. Ten matches were played between 19 January and 15 March.

England were the champions, winning the championship outright for the first time since 1963; they had also shared in the quintuple tie in 1973. It was England’s eighteenth championship, excluding ten titles shared with other teams. In winning all four matches they won the Grand Slam for the eighth time, equalling the record held by Wales. It was England’s first Grand Slam since 1957 and only their second since 1928. England’s victories over Ireland, Wales and Scotland also gave them the Triple Crown for the first time since 1960 and the fifteenth time overall up to this date.

This is a must for any collector of England rugby memorabilia. A very rare piece that will increase in in value. A signed 1980 England Five Nations Replica Shirt, signed by players from the 1980 Grand Slam Winners Squads.
